Six-piece "hippie country-folk-rock" band from Minnesota
1972 FREELAND STATS
• Freeland starts album rehearsals in f*ing cold Circle Pines, MN basement. Of six members, five contribute songs.
• On any given day at least one Freeland member’s car breaks down.
• Freeland records “Headin’ Back” in New Hope, MN basement.
• Freeland builds all-in-one tube amp-powered PA system, eliminating need for separate amps. Amps added immediately.
• Freeland moves to Idaho Springs CO; takes up residence in Ute Creek cabins (and caves).
• Freeland practices a lot, breathes mountain air and plays several Colorado gigs.
• Freeland packs it in when members determine that they can’t afford to fix their cars anymore.
2005
• Freeland reunites for St. Paul concert in memory of Rich Greenwood, who played violin on “Headin’ Back”.
• 2007 All six members assemble in OH woods and make another Record. “Almost Home” released in 2012.
