The genesis of Too Many Secrets goes back a dozen years or so. Bill Hartzell, a Recording Arts & Technology professor has had a lifelong interest in electronic music. His office was next to mine. I’d occasionally stop by and listen to what SoundSavant was up to. I threatened to collaborate with him someday. The pandemic lockdown finally created time and place to do this. I said “Hey Bill, send me a few songs and I’ll see if I can create/weave a lead vocal melody into your jams. Then I’ll come up with a story line and see what happens.” For me this is a totally ass backwards way of writing that I’d not explored in my five decades of songcraft. Lyrics and melody over a finished song?! I went for it and we both love the results My electronic alter ego is T-Dub. Together we are dubSAVANT. We also have another finished song called Mix Tape, which is me ranting about the death of musicians making money from our copyrights. When the video is done we’ll lay it on the universe. Be busy being born, baby. Old dogs, new tricks. Tommy Wiggins
