I’m not ready to go back home Get back into the grind I’ve met some warm-hearted people out here I don’t want to leave them behind Singing their sweet, sweet songs of the Islands The music of their souls They’re the reason that I’m not ready to go Aloha, I Love you, Aloha goodbye Such a simple word, that means so much to this guy Hanging loose is a life I’ve been longing to try Aloha is hello, I love you, Aloha goodbye Something about the sun going down Into that sea of blue Something about the trade winds blowing Softly into your room Board shorts and little bikinis are my kind of clothes I’m leaving a piece of my heart here that nobody knows Aloha, I Love you, Aloha goodbye Such a simple word, that means so much to this guy Hanging loose is a life I’ve been longing to try Aloha is hello, I love you, Aloha goodbye

21 floors up, looking down at the water Beautiful people ride the waves Sun come shining over that diamond mountain Another drop-dead sunny day Postcard perfect, white sand beaches You youldn’t ask for anything more There’s only one thing missing is your sweet lips for kissing And I’m walking that white sand floor Waiting on a perfect wave like rollin’ down a lost highway there’s a price you get to pay How’d I ever let you slip away Girl, I gotta say That I’ve had better days Like a pitch black two lane Chilly wind blowin’ We shoulda gassed up down the line But you were next there next to me, yeah My extacy, yeah I never felt so fine And here I I’m five time zones away From my perfect wave And the love you gave me It never crossed my mind What I’d left to find got me crazy Here I’m 21 floors up, looking down at the water Beautiful people ride the waves There is only one thing missing your sweet lips for kissing you’re my perfect wave you’re my perfect wave

about

Mountains, meadows, tumbleweed, tides. I love exploring new places and capturing the sounds of these spaces. These “Postcards From…” journeys are where new songs and memories are made. This is POSTCARD from WAIKIKI, fruits of a week-long Oahu adventure. Sun, sand, lush vegetation, and some of the sweetest local music I’ve heard anywhere. Even the hotel lounge duo was inspiring! Further shaka (the hand thing) exploration required.

Track 1: Aloha, I Love You – "I’m not ready to go back home, get back into the grind. I’ve met some warm-hearted people out here, I don’t want to leave them behind.” For Tazi, Jayden and Ron Kanahele, my new friends from Oahu, Hawaii. (4:10)

Track 2: My Perfect Wave – “Sun come shining, over that diamond mountain, another drop-dead sunny day”. (2:53)

Track 3: Waves of Waikiki – After midnight surf lullaby. (37:42)

This album is dedicated to the memory of Hawaiian slack-key guitar master Ron Kanahele.
